What is the mood of this novel? Do you d this novel saddens you in any way? why?

"1984"
The book "1984" portrays the possibility of the society of the world today.
Winston Smith lives in this different dimension. In this different world,
the freedom is taken from everybody. There are even specialized polices
who make sure that the major crime called thinking isn't commited by anyone.
People who rebelled against the government were all "brainwashed" and ended
up obeying and loving the Big Brother. Winston himself is a rebellion along
with agirlfriend he makes later in the book. The mood of the story is sad,
malancholy and any other adjetives that describe the word pessimism.
The people who theWinston considered as friends all either were killed by
the government orbetrayed him. In the end, Winston himself gets "brainwashed",
and goes against everything he's believed for about 45 years.

This post was a little difficult to read because of some bad grammar. However, it was interesting to read. I agree that our world could have become something like 1984's dystopian world if people in the early twentieth century made horrible choices. I think George Orwell's reason for writing 1984 was to warn the people (of the early-1900s) not to make bad decisions and lead the world to a dystopian world.
Also, I think 1984 has a sad mood to show how horrible the world can become if we make bad decisions.
I think 1984 encourages us to make careful and wise decisions.

This post is well done. You have done a great job catching the mood of the novel. My thoughts were very similar to yours :) I was amazed at you actually took some time to look at word choices and I agree with your opinion for it. Lastly, I like your profile picture XD

You know what I think?? I think that the world is pretty much already in the state of the world of 1984 just in a different way. People are blinded to see only certain ways thus creating conflict in the world while the people at the top (big brother jah?) look down at us, tell us what to think, then laugh as we fall and stumble. We have already failed to make careful and wise decisions, its just now how we clean up after ourselves... nice post btw XD.
